ESRI Canada Appoints New Regional Director for Ontario

TORONTO – June 16, 2011 – ESRI Canada today announced the appointment of Adam Fox as the company's new Regional Director for Ontario.  Mr. Fox will lead the region's sales organization in providing geographic information system (GIS) solutions to the Ontario market.  He previously held a senior account management role within the company, where he successfully managed large enterprise municipal clients in the Greater Toronto Area.  In his new role, Mr. Fox will oversee three offices, as well as support broad adoption of ESRI technology, professional services and training in Ontario.

“We see tremendous opportunity for further expanding our footprint in Ontario as organizations across industries move from traditional mapping to more advanced geographic analysis,” said James Wickson, vice president of sales and professional services, ESRI Canada.  “Adam Fox will be key to driving this process.  His extensive experience in GIS consulting and enterprise sales, as well as his passion for teamwork and customer service will enable us to help more customers use GIS to increase their efficiency.”

Mr. Fox brings over 15 years of international GIS experience to his role, having worked in Canada, the United States and Europe.  His expertise spans many aspects of GIS, including technical consulting, presales engineering, enterprise system sales, account and partner management, and business development.  He joined ESRI Canada in 1997 as a GIS consultant overseeing large provincial government projects and moved into account management in 2000.  After working for eight years with Cadcorp, a U.K.-based GIS company, Mr. Fox rejoined ESRI Canada as an account manager in 2009.

“It's an exciting time to be in our industry as more and more people realize the power of geography in making effective decisions,” said Adam Fox, regional director for Ontario, ESRI Canada.  “Governments, businesses and schools are looking to us to help them transform the way they manage geographic information and gain valuable intelligence.  With ESRI's unmatched technology and the exceptional staff at ESRI Canada, I look forward to leading the team in providing our customers with the best solution to meet their needs.”
