USGIF 2020 Awards Program Now Open

The Foundation annually recognizes outstanding achievements in the Geospatial Intelligence Community

Herndon, Virginia (November 20, 2019)—The United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) is now accepting nominations for its 2020 Awards Program. The Awards Program annually recognizes the exceptional work of the global geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) tradecraft’s brightest minds and most innovative organizations. The program shines a spotlight on outstanding GEOINT achievements in five categories: academic, community support, government, industry, and military. Nomination forms may be downloaded here, and the application deadline is Feb. 6.

“What defines the significance of the USGIF Awards Program?” said Kevin Jackson, chair of the USGIF Awards Subcommittee. “A 15-year history recognizing individuals and teams for their exceptional accomplishments, demonstrable advancements of the tradecraft, exceptional capabilities and evolving technologies, and the expression of appreciation of the awardees. All these things define the Awards Program, but it is your continued support that makes it possible. The 2020 USGIF Awards Program is now open and once again I ask for your support.”

Any individual, team, or organization engaged in GEOINT and related fields including nontraditional technologies and capabilities—whether in global security, open-source information, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, location-based applications, virtual and augmented reality, and beyond—are encouraged to apply.

The awards will be presented on stage during the general session at USGIF’s GEOINT 2020 Symposium, scheduled for April 26-29 in Tampa, Florida. Visit usgif.org/community/usgifAwards to learn more about the program, view past award recipients, and to submit a nomination.
