“We looked at several software products before we saw GTViewer. It was the only one that did everything we wanted,” said Jeff Bremer, Superintendent of Engineering & Construction for Citizens Gas. “Now our mobile users can query for an address and have its location displayed on the screen, see the scanned documents for gas services, and even run a valve isolation trace if a shutdown is needed.”
Office personnel have shown interest in seeing a display of all gas pipes of a particular material or size, and GTViewer accomplishes the task with ease.
Essential to success was the work of GTI business partner Ten Sails Consulting, who provided the software to export Smallworld GIS data to the format used by GTViewer. As part of the project, Ten Sails linked customer data to the GIS data, which gives Citizens Gas personnel richer information than was available in the GIS alone.
“Another Smallworld GIS user has benefited from the GTI-Ten Sails partnership,” said Charlie Marlin, consultant for GTI. “We are overjoyed to assist Citizens Gas to achieve their goals.”
