The Department of Geography at San Francisco State University offers B.A. and M.A. degrees specializing in geographic information science, and a certificate of completion in GIS. The certificate offers students’ applications-oriented training in the use of this rapidly maturing technology. The certificate program is open to students seeking to add to their knowledge, but not seeking degrees. The courses are designed to provide students with skills and a conceptual base from which they will be able to develop and manage large or small GIS projects.
