Geomatica OrthoEngine v10.3 Tutorial Orthorectifying ADS40/80 Data The Leica ADS40/80 airborne digital sensor is superior to any other large format digital airborne imaging technology available today. ADS40/80 sensor (currently in its third generation) is a line-scanning sensor that collects images in a 12,000 pixel wide swath. This camera can simultaneously collect panchromatic, color and color-infrared stereo imagery. All multispectral bands are collected simultaneously at the same high resolution, providing 5-band, co-registered and equal resolution imagery from data acquisition. 312
VP map Series V2 THE Perfect Bridge From Scan To GIS This tutorial has been organized to help you to quickly find operation terms, commands, and description of functions and to supply you with brief, but sufficient explanations. The tutorial applies to the following VP products: VPmap and VPmap pro. The icon at the top on each page indicates the product(s) to which the information and/or commands apply. If specific commands on a page are limited to other products or product groups this is marked with a corresponding icon at the corresponding command. 13
VP HybridCAD ® V9 This Tutorial has been designed to guide and teach you how to use the numerous functions of VPHybridCAD products, including the VPHybridCAD Demos. We refer to the Reference Manual for detailed descriptions of all available functions. Also, the content of the Tutorial and Reference Manuals are available online in the software (help and tutorial). 12
Remote Sensing Tutorial Remote sensing is a technology used for obtaining information about a target through the analysis of data acquired from the target at a distance. It is composed of three parts, the targets - objects or phenomena in an area; the data acquisition - through certain instruments; and the data analysis - again by some devices. 466
Orthorectifying AVNIR-2 Data Rigorous and RPC Modeling AVNIR-2 stands for Advanced Visible and Near Infrared Radiometer Type 2. It is a successor of AVNIR-1 and is one of the three sensors on-board the ALOS satellite; the other two sensors are PRISM and PALSAR. The main improvement in AVNIR-2 over AVNIR-1 is the image resolution. While AVNIR-1 produced 16 meter resolution images, AVNIR-2 is capable of producing 10 meter resolution multi-spectral images. 25
Multiple Signature Generator (CSG2) and Maximum Likelihood Classifier (MLC) Model CSG2 or Multiple Signature Generator is a new algorithm introduced in PCI Geomatica 10.3. CSG2 is an enhancement of our older CSG algorithm (Classifier Signature Generator). With the introduction of CGS2 algorithm, CSG will be retired in future versions of Geomatica. 7
Map Projection Map projections are attempts to portray the surface of the earth or a portion of the earth on a flat surface. Some distortions of conformality, distance, direction, scale, and area always result from this process. Some projections minimize distortions in some of these properties at the expense of maximizing errors in others 113
Map Navigation Tools Add map navigation tools to the Flash application. 38
Map Forms Builds on the application developed in Tutorial 2 - Map Navigation Tools, adding a history form and a layer control. 49
Manual Mosaicking Manual mosaicking allows you to mosaic individual image files or edit unsatisfactory images and/or cutlines in files that were created using the automatic mosaicking tool. The following tutorial outlines the basic steps involved in mosaicking a series of orthorectified images using the new manual mosaic tool in OrthoEngine V10.3 99
HyperXpress Tutorial Series - Viewer Features & Tricks Lesson 3 : The HyperXpress Viewer contains many features designed to provide a powerful tool kit for helping to ensure that you get the plot that you wanted. See the following pages for examples on how to use the viewer to: 23
HyperXpress Tutorial Series - Using HyperXpress to print from your Windows Application Lesson 1 : The basics of printing using HyperXpress can be described in these simple steps. Each step is presented in detail in the following pages with illustrations showing you what you should expect to see on your screen. The basic steps for printing with HyperXpress are: 7
HyperXpress Tutorial Series - Using HyperXpress to print files on Disk Lesson 2 : The printer definition created is used when printing using the Windows Printer Interface product. This method allows HyperXpress to be used from within any Windows application. The shortcuts are used for accessing the features of the File-Based GUI for using HyperXpress to process disk files. Using HyperXpress as a Windows printer is covered in a separate tutorial. This tutorial covers the file-based GUI interface. 15
Global Positioning System GPS is funded by and controlled by the U. S. Department of Defense (DOD). While there are many thousands of civil users of GPS world-wide, the system was designed for and is operated by the U. S. military.
GPS provides specially coded satellite signals that can be processed in a GPS receiver, enabling the receiver to compute position, velocity and time.
