The primary purpose of the Charlotte-Metropolitan GIS User Group will be to educate and discover ways to improve GIS technology. The GIS User Group will help to encourage development of leadership roles, growth in GIS capabilities, promote employee succession and encourage further responsibilities. The GIS User Group has a goal to strengthen partnerships and create more areas of collaboration. The GIS User Group will have the authority to put together and market recommendations to other existing GIS leadership teams. Two events are held annually.
