Call for papers seeks pioneering thinking to support better business decisions
Aylesbury, 16th February 2010 - Esri UK, the country’s leading provider of geographic information systems (GIS) technology, has announced a call for papers and is encouraging presentation submissions for the Esri Annual Conference 2011, set to take place in May. The company is offering both the public and private sector the opportunity to showcase innovative ideas, to demonstrate how GIS applications can drive improved operational and business efficiencies, from enhanced decision making.
With many organisations facing more limited resources and an increased need to deliver 'better for less', GIS underpins added value in the public, private and academic sectors. The conference, entitled "New Approaches for Our Changing World", aims to explore how GIS technology is being used as a strategic and operational tool to inform decisions around areas such as supply chain optimisation, CRM and enterprise resource planning, in order to make organisations more efficient and effective.
The call for papers invites new thinking and approaches from the GIS community to address a number of different challenges, including:
- Public sector - how can geographical and location-based intelligence add further business value?
- Private sector - how can geographical thinking and location-based intelligence demonstrate long-term return on investment?
- Geo futures - what is the future for GI technologies and their business and societal benefits?
- Technology - how can GI users and developers benefit from Esri UK’s products, now and in the future?
Successful entrants will be offered a speaker slot, a two day complimentary conference pass including an invitation to the conference dinner, enabling them to address and network with leading GIS professionals from across the UK.
The Esri UK Annual Conference takes place 16-17 May 2011, at the Hilton London Metropole and potential participants, keen to propose ideas, are encouraged to submit a brief abstract via http://eukac.esriuk.com/agenda/call-for-papers.asp, before February 25th.
