CMiC Leverages Adobe LiveCycle in CMiC Open Enterprise v10

TORONTO – January 27th, 2011 – CMiC, the leader in providing software solutions to the construction industry, announced that it is working with 4Point, the solution provider of choice for numerous Fortune 1000 companies, to offer Adobe LiveCycle for clients who use CMiC Open Enterprise v10, the most advanced construction software solution ever created. Adobe LiveCycle can be used to transform data from CMiC into an interactive and fillable PDF form, improving the flow of communications and optimizing business processes.

“We are excited to offer Adobe LiveCycle to our clients and are looking forward to unlocking the potential this solution has when used with CMiC construction software” said Bassem Hamdy, Vice President, Solutions, CMiC. “Since most people are familiar with Adobe, it requires no training in order to use, and it’s customizable by the user, so it can be suited to match any business requirement. It reduces the amount of data entry and has very secure rights management, so the data comes to you in a more natural way.”

With Adobe LiveCycle and CMiC, according to Hamdy, users will be able to generate an RFI from a workflow within CMiC Project Management, automatically create and email a subcontractor application for payment and create on demand time sheets with daily cost codes. ”All three of these functions significantly improve business processes and enhance efficiencies. With a product as diverse as LiveCycle and a system as flexible as CMiC Open Enterprise v10, the possibilities are endless,” said Hamdy.

With Adobe LiveCycle Reader Extensions, users can interact with forms and capture data while offline.  Users can also electronically sign documents, enabling better security and project-related communications and management.  For situations where a wet signature is required users can also enable an interactive 2D barcode data capture functionality which allows 100% data accuracy while maintaining a signed document of record. The 2D barcode turns a paper process into a digital process without having to re-key data. Adobe LiveCycle also provides extensive Digital Rights Management capabilities, allowing users to add policies to documents allowing the tracking and audit of sensitive documents and protecting intellectual property.

“Adobe LiveCycle will enhance the end-user experience by improving the job initiation business process,” said Hamdy. “Entering a project into the system becomes all that much easier with LiveCycle with a new project guide. CMiC Open Enterprise v10 is the most technologically open construction software solution, and LiveCycle is integrated into the system using XML. The idea of connecting to outside systems, such as LiveCycle and BIM applications, is the driving philosophy behind CMiC Experience Management, our product suite that is designed to increase interoperability for your organization and eliminate the walls between project stakeholders.”
