PITTSBURGH – October 6, 2010 – ANSYS (NASDAQ: ANSS) today announced that it has been named as one of the world’s largest software providers by Software Magazine for the fourth consecutive year. ANSYS moved up seven places on the publication’s Software 500 to rank at 92. With 2009 software revenue of $516.9 million, ANSYS led the list’s primary business sector of engineering.
As a quick list of vendor viability, the Software 500 ranking is designed to help CIOs, senior IT managers and IT staff research and create a short list of business partners.
“We are very proud of our growing reputation for helping companies accelerate new product development,” said Jim Cashman, president and CEO of ANSYS. “Organizations everywhere have been trying to do more with less. Our software gives customers confidence that their product designs will perform well in the real world — which, in turn, can lead them to innovation and ultimately business success.”
The Software 500 is a revenue-based ranking of the world’s largest software and services suppliers targeting medium to large enterprises, their IT professionals, software developers and business managers involved in software and services purchasing. The ranking, which marks its 28th year, is based on total worldwide software and services revenue for 2009. Suppliers are not ranked on their total corporate revenue, since many have other lines of business, such as hardware. The financial information was gathered by a survey prepared by King Content Co. and posted at www.Softwaremag.com, as well as from public documents.
