Synventive Standardizes on Autodesk Moldflow Insight to Improve Product Quality

Digital Prototyping Speeds Delivery of Custom Manufacturing Systems

SAN RAFAEL, Calif. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — August 19, 2010 — Synventive Molding Solutions, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of hot runner systems and components, has standardized on Autodesk Moldflow Insight software globally to deliver higher quality, more optimized solutions for its customers.

Synventive recently expanded its deployment of Autodesk Moldflow Insight software from Autodesk, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADSK) to achieve a higher level of accuracy for its customized plastics injection molding applications, spanning operations in the U.S., Germany and China. Autodesk Moldflow Insight software, part of the Autodesk solution for Digital Prototyping, offers Synventive enhanced performance, accuracy and interoperability with its computer-aided design (CAD) application. As a result, Synventive’s 120 engineers can apply “what-if” scenarios and more easily foresee and resolve product defects before production begins — thereby producing higher quality products in a shorter amount of time.

Synventive, which caters to a wide variety of industries, including automotive, electronics, medical and more, prides itself on being committed to its customers’ success and providing industry-leading support and service. “We take a consultative approach with our customers, so when they come to us with an idea for a product we work with them to make it even better,” said Brian Bechard, president, North America at Synventive. “Autodesk Moldflow Insight software is key to our value-add by allowing us to simulate and optimize solutions before production. With Autodesk Moldflow Insight, we can help our customers develop and deliver a better product.”

In addition to tremendous quality improvements, Synventive is also enjoying the benefits of faster overall design and production times with Autodesk Moldflow Insight software. In one case, Synventive was able to step in for a supplier to a major automotive manufacturer and deliver several highly customized hot runner systems in less than four weeks, a very tight deadline for a particularly challenging application. Synventive met the deadline, designed and manufactured manifolds that exceeded expectations, and became the preferred source of hot runners for the new customer.

“Manufacturers expect their suppliers to meet aggressive schedules that reflect consumer demand for more frequent new products and greater variety of product choices,” said Robert “Buzz” Kross, senior vice president, Autodesk Manufacturing Industry Group. “By leveraging powerful simulation capabilities, Synventive can deliver the highest possible quality custom systems to its customers in the shortest possible times.”
