Accela, Inc. to Introduce Enhanced GIS Tools for Field-Based Geodatabase Editing at 2010 ESRI User Conference

WHAT'S NEW
Accela, Inc., the leading provider of GIS-enriched, Web and mobile applications that make government services available 24/7, is a Silver Sponsor of the 2010 ESRI International User Conference. At ESRI UC, July 12-15, Accela will unveil new GIS functionality that extends geodatabase editing to field-based government teams – allowing them to dynamically add the locations and properties of their public-works and infrastructure assets on the spot in real time. This workflow-embedded GIS capability is designed to help teams build and maintain a highly accurate geodatabase, resulting in better asset maintenance, greater team efficiency, and reduced costs.

In addition, Accela will present an ESRI UC session titled “How GIS-Infused Mobile Solutions Help Local Governments Meet Tough Challenges”, illustrating how Charlotte County, Fla., Westminster, Colo., and McAllen, Texas, have leveraged GIS-infused mobile solutions to boost efficiency and accuracy for a range of services. The presentation will take place Thursday, July 15, 1:30 – 2:45 p.m., Room 23-C, San Diego Convention Center.

THE TECHNOLOGY
GIS is a centerpiece of Accela’s flagship Accela Automation® software and its Accela Mobile OfficeTM solution, which allow office- and field-based government workers to leverage geospatial data in numerous critical government tasks, including: inspections, investigations, code enforcement, urban planning, infrastructure asset management, and more. Accela GISTM software lets users of these products start their tasks directly from the map, and access all of their permitting, licensing and asset data from within the Accela GIS Map Viewer. With Accela GIS, users can also view mashups of Bing Maps and ArcGIS map layers across government agencies. With routing capability via ArcGIS Server Network Extension, and an RIA interface built using Microsoft Silverlight 3, Accela GIS has been designed to offer users a richer GIS experience.

DEMONSTRATIONS
Demonstrations of Accela's solutions will occur, July 13- 15, at Accela booth #1917, San Diego Convention Center.
