ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 27 — (PRNewswire) — Avineon, Inc., a successful provider of IT, geospatial, engineering, and program management solutions, today announced the appointment of John Tarr as a geospatial business development executive for the company's commercial division. Tarr will be responsible for identifying and securing new geospatial business opportunities in the telecommunications, utilities, and state and local government markets.

Tarr brings more than 13 years of experience in business development and operations management to Avineon. His career has been concentrated in the telecommunications and utility markets, working on some of the largest geospatial programs in the world. He has successfully closed more than $100 million worth of contracts for projects involving business process outsourcing, data clean up, data migration, field data collection, and data conversion. Tarr will be based in Avineon's Clearwater, Fla., office.
