Richmond, VA – November 3, 2009 – Timmons Group, a leader in enterprise asset management consulting services, reports that the City of Alexandria, Virginia, ( http://alexandriava.gov/) recently went “live” with a Timmons Group implemented Cityworks® Computerized Maintenance Management Solution (CMMS).
Timmons Group’s Infrastructure Solutions team members provided turn-key implementation services for the City’s departments of Transportation & Environmental Services (T&ES) and Recreation, Parks & Cultural Activities (RPCA). At “Go-Live”, City of Alexandria Cityworks users numbered over 250. TES and REC are currently managing over 200 unique Service Requests and over 600 Work Order types.
Future Cityworks efforts planned by the City include deployment of the Cityworks Server MMS, integration of the City’s Pavement Management Program (also developed and delivered by Timmons Group), implementation of the Cityworks Store Room module for inventory management, and implementation of Cityworks across additional City departments tasked with the management of various infrastructure elements.
L.A. McCracken, City of Alexandria’s Information Technology Coordinator for TES and Cityworks Project Manager, stated, “Timmons Group’s expert implementation of Cityworks has opened a new future of strategic asset and maintenance management capabilities to be explored by the City of Alexandria. Timmons Group’s Infrastructure Solutions staff, through their diligence and resourcefulness, has established the framework for a maintenance management program that will serve the citizens of Alexandria by providing the City’s executive management, divisional managers, and front-line maintenance staff with the tool sets necessary to assist in maintaining the quality of their community for years to come.”
In addition, the City is implementing Timmons Group’s Request LoGIStics®, a next generation software product providing a user-intuitive, web-based interface for the creation of service requests and public inquiries as part of the Azteca Cityworks software suite. Under this initiative, Timmons Group is working with the City’s Information Technology Services (ITS) Department to revamp the manner in which City constituents communicate their needs for service to over 30 different City departments and agencies. To date, nearly 600 unique request types have been defined and configured for inclusion in the Cityworks database. Citizen requests for information and services will be managed through the Request LoGIStics/Cityworks suite, ultimately providing City management with a means of measuring and improving upon staff responsiveness and constituent satisfaction.
Ed Singer, PE, Timmons Group Principal and Infrastructure Solutions Manager, stated, “The culture of the City of Alexandria is one of continual improvement and exceptional constituent services. Our implementation team had the pleasure of working with City stakeholders that, from senior management down, were totally committed to a successful implementation. Every step of the way, City employees push the envelope and seek to do more. We look forward to witnessing the innovative ways the City of Alexandria will employ Cityworks to achieve their asset sustainability objectives and commend them for their efforts.”
