Adache Group Architects celebrates 40 years

Completion of W Fort Lauderdale Hotel & Residences and formation of energy consulting subsidiary reflect experience and forward thinking

July 08, 2009 - FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – How does an architectural firm celebrate its 40th year in business? By savoring the completion of its latest magnificent hotel design while launching a new subsidiary retrofitting buildings with energy efficient systems.

Founded in 1969 by Dan Adache, a young architect in a then-sleepy city of Fort Lauderdale, Adache Group Architects ( www.Adache.com) designed the recently opened one million-square-foot W Fort Lauderdale Hotel & Residences.

Catering to an affluent, style-conscious clientele with keen appreciation for the finer things in life, including great architecture, the W’s dual towers, spanning two oceanfront blocks, create the impression of vertical waves that provide breathtaking ocean views from spacious, curved balconies. The towers share a common design style, but play different roles. That is, one is a 346-room hotel with restaurants and state-of-the art convention facilities, while the other “wave” is a luxury condominium of 171 one-and two-bedroom units with city and ocean views. Capri Resorts, LLC is the owner.

Over the years, Adache and his team has designed more than 200 hotels and resorts and more than 30,000 condominium units in 45 countries on five continents. Named as one of the top 10 design firms in America by Hotel Design Magazine, Adache is a trusted and respected company in the highly competitive, demanding field of hospitality and resort architecture and interior design.

Although hotels and resorts are their specialty, Adache Group Architects also designs and develops large office buildings, multi-use facilities, schools, custom residential, and other commercial/institutional/government buildings throughout the world.

In their anniversary year, the company is also expanding into the emerging energy retrofitting business with the establishment of Energy Retrofit Group, ( www.energy-rg.com) a wholly-owned subsidiary that consults large commercial building owners on how to maximize energy efficiency, especially interior lighting, heating and cooling, and hot water systems.

The U.S. Government currently is now offering various programs and tax incentives for energy retrofitting. And while commercial development has slowed worldwide due to the economic situation, the new market for energy analysis and system retrofitting is just starting to take off. A new study by Pike Research ( www.pikeresearch.com) estimates the total potential market for major green renovations in the commercial building sector is approximately $400 billion.

“The future is going to be exciting with energy conservation now essential to the profitable operation of older buildings,” said Dan Adache, chairman. “So while we’re celebrating our past accomplishments in architectural design, planning and development we have a clear vision of the future.”
