TwinStar Credit Union Grows with ArcGIS Business Analyst

GIS is Used to Locate New Branches for Better Customer Service

Redlands, California—June 29, 2009—TwinStar Credit Union, headquartered in Olympia, Washington, is using ESRI's ArcGIS Business Analyst geographic information system (GIS) software to assist in growing its network of branch and ATM locations. Serving the entire state of Washington, TwinStar is dedicated to continuing its high level of service to its members while managing growth carefully in a competitive marketplace. ArcGIS Business Analyst is the tool of choice to help the credit union locate new sites, analyze markets, and discover new opportunities.

TwinStar had been employing another mapping application but found the capabilities to be limited. "We were using software that allowed us to see only two dimensions of market performance: deposit and member growth," says Paul Anderson, an analyst in the Strategic Planning Department at TwinStar. "Since we needed a more complete understanding of our geographically diverse markets, it made sense to enhance our mapping and analysis capability to do a better job."

The credit union chose ArcGIS Business Analyst in February 2009 and began applying its mapping and analytic capabilities to branch planning and performance reporting right away. "I was able to use ArcGIS Business Analyst out of the box with no training," states Anderson. "My background in business intelligence and database concepts is all I really needed to understand the software. When I do have an issue, the technical support is excellent."

ArcGIS Business Analyst is a scalable family of products comprising server, desktop, and online applications that can easily be deployed throughout an organization for improved collaboration and decision making. Businesses are able to incorporate the software into their existing workflows to provide enhanced marketing and customer intelligence through analyzing site selection, customer segmentation, demographic trends, and potential markets.

Organizations including retailers, franchisers, commercial real estate, insurance organizations, and financial institutions like TwinStar use ArcGIS Business Analyst as an important tool for business functions.
