Informative Graphics Corporation Sends President Obama a Technology Gift to Help Usher in New Era of Open Government

PHOENIX, April 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Informative Graphics Corporation ( www.infograph.com) a leader in viewing, collaboration and redaction technology, praised President Obama's memorandum urging heads of Federal executive departments and agencies to usher in a new era of "open government."

"Our President is entirely correct when he observes that advances in communications technology today can make it possible for government to operate with unprecedented accountability and transparency without sacrificing national security or the privacy of citizens," said Gary Heath, Informative Graphics CEO.

Informative Graphics said it is providing the President with free copies of a product it created specifically to make sharing information easy. The product called Brava!(R), was designed to streamline workflows and communication in enterprise content management, project management and project collaboration environments.

The company made the gesture after the President recently directed the Attorney General to issue new guidelines governing the Freedom of Information Act, reaffirming the Administration's commitment to accountability and transparency and to publish such guidelines in the Federal Register. The President also instructed the Director of the Office of Management and Budget to update guidance to Federal agencies to increase and improve information dissemination to the public "through the use of new technologies."

"We believe that our technology will help Federal, state and local government officials experience the benefits and cost savings of easy, accurate and secure document sharing, while having state-of-the-art redaction capabilities for protecting privacy information and safeguarding confidentiality," said Christine Musil, Vice President of Communication for Informative Graphics.

"This is more important than ever with the rise of problems like identity theft contrasting the public clamor for greater government transparency. By using the latest communications technology to distribute documents internally and externally, our government agencies could be seen as a model of excellence in information sharing," added Musil.

According to Heath, The Obama Administration should get global credit for being innovative and far reaching in applying technological solutions to help our government increase and improve information dissemination to the public. "It was Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis who wrote 'sunlight is the best disinfectant.'"
