Spectrum Helps Dexter + Chaney Rise Five Places In Annual Ranking For Company Size

SEATTLE, April 1, 2009: Dexter + Chaney ( www.dexterchaney.com) has continued its march up the Puget Sound Business Journal’s annual ranking of Puget Sound software developers based on gross revenues. The maker of Spectrum(R) Construction Software placed 10th in the publication’s recently-announced 2009 listing, rising five places over the previous year’s ranking when it was 15th. The company has steadily climbed up the list since placing 23rd in 2003.

“It’s gratifying to all of us at Dexter + Chaney that we’ve cracked the ‘Top Ten’ of software developers in a region—Puget Sound—that’s synonymous with technology,” said John Chaney, Dexter + Chaney co-founder and president. “We’ve been able to grow by following our mantra of ‘helping construction companies grow’ by developing Spectrum to meet their constantly changing needs.”

The Puget Sound Business Journal ranking is the latest in a series of local or trade listings to include Dexter + Chaney for its size or growth rate. For five consecutive years, the company has made Software Magazine’s Software 500 ranking of the world’s largest software and services providers; for 10 of the past 12 years, Dexter + Chaney has been named to Deloitte’s “Washington State Technology Fast 50” list of the state’s fastest-growing high-tech companies.

Chaney expects the company to continue to make those rankings, as contractors adopt the new modules and features in the recently launched Spectrum Version 13. “The Resource Scheduling module and enhanced Service Management capabilities in Version 13 are a response to our customers’ specific requests,” said Chaney. “We expect those products to help our construction-company customers continue to grow their businesses.”
