Establishing and hosting a geomatic data networking solution. KHEOPS : The affordable alternative for MRCs and Municipalities

Montreal, September 11th 2008 — KHEOPS is offering a new business model for MRCs that is both flexible and affordable: establishing and hosting a solution for the networking of geomatic data. Thus, during the next three years KHEOPS will circulate, online via JMap, all the up-to-date information concerning the Vaudreil-Soulanges MRC to its 23 constituent municipalities. An advantageous solution for those municipalities in terms of speed, costs and efficiency.

One of the main mandate of the Vaudreuil-Soulanges MRC is the systemization of its territory, such as the organization of the areas and the provision of a framework for development. This includes in particular an outline for civic security, the coverage of fire hazard and the control of residual materials. Since the sharing of information between various departments and personnel as well as broadcasts to the general public are ever increasing, the MRC gains many advantages by way of the solution offered by KHEOPS.

The speed – The solution allows the configuration of spatial layers in order to optimize the rapidity of display and to standardize the visual content.

The efficiency – The solution provides a global view in real time, and thus facilitates the coordination, the speed of response and the collaboration between the municipalities.

The MRC of Vaudreuil-Soulanges was created in 1982. Its territory is situated west of the island of Montreal, at the junction of the Outaouais river and the St-Lawrence seaway, in proximity to the Ontario and American borders. It regroups 23 municipalities, urban or rural, such as Vaudreuil-Dorion, Saint-Lazare, Pincourt and L’Île-Perrot.

KHEOPS is a leader in the development of geographic data systems since 1995. Thanks to its JMap software, an online spatial solution, organisations can transmit interactive geospatial applications via public, private and mobile networks. JMap is compatible with all relational databases on the market, reading the formats in real time and this, without conversion. Also, being 100% Java, the solution is available for all operating systems (Linux, Windows or UNIX) and is also extensible thanks to a software development tool (SDK).
