Construction Companies Use Dexter + Chaney's Spectrum Construction Software To Manage Projects Totaling More Than $21.6 Billion

SEATTLE, July 31, 2007: Construction companies throughout the United States use Dexter + Chaney’s Spectrum(TM) Construction Software to manage more than $21.6 billion in construction projects annually, according to data released by the Seattle-based software firm. Combined, Dexter + Chaney customers process more than 12 million checks to employees and suppliers and have more than 112,800 employees.

The $21.6 billion in annual revenues generated by Dexter + Chaney clients would place 108th on the Fortune 500 ranking of America’s largest corporations—ahead of McDonald’s, Goodyear and Coca Cola.

A construction company that manages projects worth more than $200 million annually could be considered a large organization. By comparison, Dexter + Chaney’s combined clients produce that amount in less than two days. “The sheer volume of work managed by Spectrum underscores the software’s capabilities,” explained John Chaney, Dexter + Chaney’s president and co-founder. “Spectrum helps our clients keep their work on budget and generate the profit levels required by company owners and executives.”

Spectrum is responsible for a broad range of activities, from managing contracts (including change orders) to managing heavy equipment, purchasing materials and controlling subcontracts. Spectrum also manages all of a construction company’s financial aspects, including payments and cash receipts.

Chaney explained that, as the construction industry continues to evolve and grow, Spectrum will keep pace. He noted that Dexter + Chaney’s year-to-date sales are 20 percent higher than the same period a year ago.

“We’ve designed the software in partnership with our clients to meet their changing needs,” Chaney explained. “We continuously add features and capabilities to help construction companies manage their growing businesses.”
