Thanks to HoloLens, Hello Kitty can bring her sweet surprises anywhere HoloLens users are. The new Hello Kitty theme pack for Actiongram features 14 Hello Kitty holograms. SPACES plans to add additional Hello Kitty characters, including Badtz-Maru, Keroppi and Pompompurin, in the coming months.

SPACES, which was formed in 2016 by VR pioneers from DreamWorks Animation, was one of the first mixed-reality companies to work with HoloLens, bringing top characters and brands to the groundbreaking technology. Last year, SPACES introduced a set of My Singing Monsters Actiongram characters for HoloLens.

“Working with Microsoft has allowed us to lead the way in creating the next generation of mixed reality, and showcases our skill at combining technological innovation with amazing technology and world-class IP,” said SPACES CEO and co-founder Shiraz Akmal.

Dana Zimmerman, studio manager for Actiongram, said, “We believe there’s huge potential for storytelling via mixed reality and are excited to forge forward with the next generation of creators.”

Based in Los Angeles, SPACES takes its name from the base unit of virtual reality, a “space,” and boasts one of the most accomplished teams in the VR industry, with artists, designers and programmers from film, television, video games, visual effects, theme parks and animation.

Actiongram’s gallery of more than 500 different animated options gives creators the ability to introduce professional-level quality effects into their videos, make what was otherwise difficult, or even impossible, possible. The Actiongram catalog spans fully 3D visual effects like explosions, lifelike zombies, whimsical unicorns, and more.
