Kubotek Releases KeyCreator 2016 Direct CAD; Announces Three New Partnerships

Tetsuo Kubo, president of Kubotek Corporation, announces the latest version of KeyCreator Direct CAD software, heralding a renewed focus on the flagship product, as well as enhancements to its user interface and interoperability

MARLBOROUGH, Mass. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — August 1, 2016 — What do you get when you take a good CAD program and make it better? KeyCreator 2016. Available immediately, KeyCreator 2016 is the latest software release from Kubotek and offers numerous new features, improved functions, and many customer-driven enhancements that build upon the productivity and flexibility for which KeyCreator Direct CAD is known.

The release signals a renewed focus by Kubotek on its flagship product, KeyCreator while furthering the company’s mission to help designers and manufacturers improve their productivity and profitability.

“We are committed to providing customers with the most intuitive and flexible CAD software available and concentrating on KeyCreator allows us to do this,” said Matt Carr, Vice President Sales & Support at Kubotek. “We expect to have another release later in the year; and down the road, Kubotek will deliver more robust releases to our customers twice a year.”

Driven in part by new technology upgrades, the latest release of KeyCreator 2016 version 14.0 offers powerful updates to the software’s efficient design-to-manufacture prowess and legendary CAD data reuse, which is enhanced in this release with new design data import options and updated file reading capabilities, including:

Excel Input— Two new functions to retrieve data from an Excel file. Functions can be used everywhere the calculator is used.

Hyperlinks— Added to the new release is an Edit Hyperlink option, which opens an edit dialog listing all hyperlinks found in the file. This allows users to select an item from the list to allow editing hyperlinks, change a link, change link type and more.

Updated Translators

Keeping in line with Kubotek’s mission to help designers and manufacturers work with any file given to them regardless of the initial CAD program used to create it, KeyCreator 2016 continues its extensive import capabilities with several interoperability updates, including:

• ACIS- Read and Write extended to R26

• Parasolid- Read and Write extended to 28.0

• CATIA V5 R26-(V5 R26 is also known as V5-6 R2016 or R2016x)

• Inventor- Read extended to 2016

• Pro/Engineer/CREO- PMI Read extended to Creo 3.0

• SolidWorks- Read extended to 2016

• Siemens NX- PMI Read extended to NX9 & NX10

“The lack of CAD interoperability in the industry, including the difficult task of reusing CAD data, is a drain on companies’ resources,” Carr added. “The expense, errors, and man-hours needed to read, edit, and often redraw CAD files need to be eliminated, and we are continuing to lead the way on eliminating that extra time and expense for our customers.”

Additional Releases

KeyCreator Analysis, the optional multi-physics FEA package for KeyCreator, also gains significant improvements and performance updates with the release of KeyCreator Analysis 2016. Among the enhancements included in KeyCreator Analysis 2016 is new compatibility with Advanced Multi-Physics Simulation (AMPS) 7.0, which allows users to simply call to the program without having to regenerate models for analysis. Additionally, in AMPS 7.0 the meshing and solver have been upgraded — including a new generation of sefea technology — making KeyCreator Analysis one of the most cost-performant, and powerful multi-physics solutions available.

Also new for 2016 is a stand-alone version of the popular photorealistic rendering KeyCreator add on, Artisan. The independent Artisan product will give users the functionality of the add-on including global illumination, output images to files, high-quality real-time navigation, material textures, finishes and bumps, and more.

New Partnerships Add to Power of KeyCreator
