Ecobuild Appoints New Exhibition Director to Drive Growth

LONDON, August 7, 2015 — (PRNewswire) —

Ecobuild, the leading conference and exhibition for UK construction, has appointed a new Exhibition Director, Martin Hurn.

Hurn has in-depth knowledge of Ecobuild as its Sales Director for the past three years and has an extensive background in the construction industry, which has seen him working closely with exhibitors. In his new role, Hurn will be harnessing his substantial experience to further Ecobuild's core strategy of mirroring and supporting growth sectors across the industry such as housing, commercial and infrastructure.

Changes reflecting this strategy for 2016 include putting the conference at the heart of the show, with a much larger arena enabling over 450 attendees to listen to thought leaders from global architects to politicians. Two major new features within the exhibition will enable visitors to more directly experience products and innovation first-hand. The DISCOVER bar and central networking space will showcase new and innovative products and materials, and SMART will feature live room sets demonstrating the potential of the latest intelligent building technologies in residential and commercial settings.

Hurn said: "This is a fantastic opportunity, and I'm looking forward to tailoring Ecobuild to a changing industry, providing an even more engaging experience for visitors, and working with industry partners to get the most out of the event. Construction is in an exciting place, with many sectors seeing sustained growth and we will be reflecting that in the conference and exhibition. The 2016 event will see Ecobuild evolve to focus on growth areas in UK construction in a way that will redefine the show, and it will not be what people expect."

Ecobuild 2016 takes place from 8th to 10th March 2016 at London's ExCeL, and is the industry's meeting place to debate, discover products and share success. Ecobuild attracts over 40,000 visitors from the entire built environment supply chain. It is designed to cater for architects, consultants, local authorities, BIM professionals, developers, contractors, housebuilders, project managers, engineers, sustainability managers, facility managers, energy assessors and installers. The 2016 event will focus on a key theme for each of the three days: 'Homes, 'Architecture' and 'Next Generation', which will provide a future-gazing view of the challenges posed to construction by the next generation's lifestyles.

Ecobuild is the leading opportunity to connect with the influencers across the industry, and to forge and renew business relationships with key partners. A total of 96% of the top UK architectural practices, and 84% of the top housebuilders and contractors, attended Ecobuild 2015.
