MAPPS Announces 2015 Geospatial Excellence Awards Competition

August 7, 2015, Reston, VA -  MAPPS, the association of private sector geospatial firms, is pleased to announce today it is accepting entries for the 9th Annual MAPPS Geospatial Products and Services Excellence Awards.

The Excellence Awards exemplify the professionalism, value, integrity and achievement of MAPPS member firms as demonstrated over the previous year. A panel of five judges will evaluate the submitted projects from eight categories:

The panel will review each submission and select a winner for each category. A Grand Award will be presented from the category award winners to represent the MAPPS Project of the Year. Winners will be announced at the 2016 MAPPS Winter Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada. The deadline for entries is October 31, 2015.

About MAPPS

Formed in 1982, MAPPS is the only national association exclusively comprised of private sector firms in the remote sensing, spatial data and geographic information systems field in the United States. The MAPPS membership spans the entire spectrum of the geospatial community, including Member Firms engaged in satellite and airborne remote sensing, surveying, photogrammetry, aerial photography, LIDAR, hydrography, bathymetry, charting, aerial and satellite image processing, GPS, and GIS data collection and conversion services.
