Schneider Electric Releases Enhanced GIS Solution Providing Utilities with Increased Mobility, Improved Performance, and Innovative Integrations

June 8, 2015 – Schneider Electric announced today new capabilities for its ArcFM Enterprise GIS solution to provide utilities with increased mobility, improved performance, and innovative integrations for the management, monitoring and analysis of network assets and system operations.

Built on the Esri geospatial platform, the ArcFM Solution 10.2.1b release helps utilities facing a myriad of complex challenges – from aging infrastructure and increasing customer expectations, to a changing workforce and a rising number of severe weather events. In this new operating environment it has become more important than ever for employees throughout a utility enterprise to have an accurate and up-to-date understanding of the utility network, its component assets, where those assets are located and how they are connected.

Capabilities included in the newest version build on years of providing utilities with a map-centric, intuitive way to model, design, maintain and manage assets and networks. With the functionality updates included in the newly released version, utilities can expect:

+      Improved performance and usability resulting in increased efficiency of network editing and analysis.

+      Greater productivity and mobility through the ability to manage network assets regardless of internet access with offline viewing, redlining, and data collection functionality for all versions of ArcFM Mobile.

+      Ability to better plan incident response and reduce outage durations through the integration of the top-rated and most accurate real-time weather forecasting directly into the ArcFM Responder solution for outage event management.

+      Better data accuracy and sharing through improved systems integration.

Additionally, the upgraded solution is up to 30 percent faster than previous versions, allowing utilities to make quick, smart decisions from the control room or in the field.
