Toshiba Debuts New Value-Priced 2-in-1 Convertible PC with a 360-Degree Flip-and-Fold Design

5 Modes, 1 Device – Sleek and Compact Satellite Radius 11 Converts From Work to Play With Ease

IRVINE, Calif. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — October 21, 2014 — Toshiba’s Digital Products Division (DPD), a division of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., today announced the Satellite® Radius™ 11, a value-priced 2-in-1 convertible PC with a two-axis hinge that rotates 360-degrees, allowing the device to easily convert from laptop to tablet by just pushing back the 11.6-inch touchscreen1. Powered by Intel® and Windows 8.1, the Radius 11 starts at $329.99 MSRP2.

“We expect Satellite Radius 11 to make the grade with consumers and students looking for a highly-portable PC that gives them a bit more flexibility than a traditional clamshell laptop without cutting corners,” said Philip Osako, senior director of product marketing, Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., Digital Products Division. “Our device is sleek, lightweight and delivers plenty of power to handle everyday tasks. The fact that it has a rotational screen just further opens up the range of possibilities for what you can do with it.”

Converts with Ease

Move seamlessly from work to play – and back again. A unique, 360-degree, two-axis, “flip-and-fold” hinge enables five distinct usage modes: Laptop, Tablet, Tabletop, Presentation and Audience. A vibrant 11.6-inch diagonal, HD TruBrite® touchscreen display makes the most of the five viewing modes, giving plenty of room to consume as well as create.

A smart-locking feature automatically disables the keyboard, protecting the keys, and prevents mishaps in tablet mode. A full-size keyboard delivers more comfortable typing with contoured raised tile keys and less key-bounce.

Stylishly Smaller

Sleek, slim and lightweight at less than three pounds3 and topped with a trendy patterned light gold finish, Satellite Radius 11’s compact design makes it easy to carry. Featuring a fanless design, the laptop can be configured with the latest Intel Pentium® or Celeron® processor4, up to 4GB of RAM5 and either 32GB of speedy Flash memory6 or a spacious 500GB hard drive7.

The laptop also includes an HD webcam, plus a range of ports, including one USB 3.0, one USB 2.0, HDMI® and an SD card slot.

Pricing and Availability

The Satellite Radius 11 will be available for purchase beginning October 26, 2014, for a starting price of $329.99 MSRP at major retailers, e-tailers and direct from Toshiba on toshiba.com/us.
