“Sustainable innovation to drive industries’ efficiency”
Paris, France - May 30th, 2014. Magillem , the leading provider of front-end design xml solutions, best-in-class tools to reduce the global cost of complex designs, is embracing ISDD ™, i.e. Integrated Specification, Design & Documentation , the new paradigm in SoC design and will present customers success stories with innovative solutions addressing the most pressing market trends:
- Enabling Internet of Things , connected devices , M to M, using a virtual platform
Sensor-laden intelligent devices invade our world and change the way to design systems: HW systems include analog, digital, mems, sensors…and communications, software are key issues at the specification level. Magillem provides tools for a complete mix system definition and integration, from specification to firmware generation.
In the consumer space, many products and services have already crossed over into the IoT including smart buildings monitoring devices : running the software on the virtual platform of a room presence detection device, designed with STMicroelectronics, CEA and Imperas, will showcase the flexibility offered by virtual prototyping.
In the demo, the Board HW specification written in Word, Excel… will turn automatically into the executable System C model (x-specTM). The motto is “Execute your spec !(x-spec™)” !
- Super scalable Front end design, from FPGAs to the most complex and large SoCs
Magillem offers the only front end design solution covering Specification to ESL to RTL with the same IEEE1685 xml design database. Magillem software platform is used to assemble the largest SoCs in the world: wireless, set top boxes, processors… and has proven to be the most versatile and powerful connectivity and register management environment. Also easily addressed are ASICs or FPGAs with multiple configurations.
Deployment is now seamless thanks to a full packaging and assembly predefined and customizable flow, in-synch automated doc generation and monitoring & dash boarding of the entire design flow.
- Requirement based UVM Verification and Traceability
Continental, one of the leading automotive equipment manufacturers, and Magillem jointly present the Continental electronic system verification flow.
Magillem verification solution automatically generates UVM test and package in order to save engineers’ time and let them focus on test sequence writing.
The test cases are captured in a specification; all the different UVCs are described in IP-XACT/ IEEE1685 standard. The tool will select the UVCs, driven by the specification, and generate the full SystemC AMS test bench, as well as links to ensure the traceability of the requirements. If a change request or a modification of the DUT occurs it is able to evaluate the impact and execute automatically the non-regression test suite.
- Design Data Curation for SoC realization
Combining the usage of Magillem Content Platform and Dassault Sytèmes 3DEXPERIENCE platform, the demo shows how the design can be fueled with all persistent data from DS 3D : IP catalog, defect management, revision control, configuration. Blending data across multiple sources will broaden the perspective of design teams, thus optimizing the SoC realization.
Cyril Spasevski, chair and CTO of Magillem explains :“We are proud to present four customers state-of-the-art applications that all demonstrate the unique capabilities of our technology : Magillem’s platform, derived from IP reuse methodology, solves the challenge of maintaining consistency between various representations of the system by single sourcing the data from the specification for HW design, Firmware and documentation.”
