In addition, the San Mateo City Council and Board of Supervisors for the County of San Mateo have officially proclaimed May 17 and May 18 to be "Maker Weekend" as part of the City of San Mateo's " Innovation Week."

- How to Make a Makerspace Workshop
Information: The popular one-day workshop presented by Artisan's Asylum and MAKE will return to the San Mateo Event Center the week of Maker Faire. Over the course of the day business models, permitting and insurance, community building, and the particular challenges of incorporating education and/or business incubation into the mission of a makerspace will be discussed.
