Bologna (Italy), September 27th 2013 – Today think3 has released the official version of ThinkDesign 2013
(TD2013).
Generally speaking, much work has been done for TD 2013 to optimize its usability, further improve its performance, consolidate quality and consistency of its functionalities and extend its capability to interface with other environments and solutions of third parties.
In particular TD2013, both the 32-bit and the 64-bit versions, will support MS Windows 8, while the Windows XP platform will be abandoned with TD 2012. Also the compatibility of the Visual Studio versions of think3 Wizards (API-COM environment) has been further extended.
More in particular, new features have been added to the basic modeling commands with important advantages for technicians who work with complex shapes. In particular, it is now possible to extend the trimmed surfaces, and also create a fillet between a curve and a
surface.
Other new features of TD 2013 consist in the TDXchange Reader add-on that can load and read the files of type Siemens NX, Autodesk Inventor and Solidworks, besides the new Catia, Pro/Engineer and Parasolid formats, already supported.
Last but not least some implementations have been introduced that go under the title of MoldDesign. They have been designed for mold designers who can benefit of specially designed
commands, such as a tool that makes it easier to position standard parts, like screws and extractors. In addition, the new Part List Editor feature makes it easier to create parts lists, thanks to a faster renumbering of the single list parts.
“The ongoing commitment of the Customer Care and Research & Development of Think3” declares Patrick Bosinco, Head of R&D “has allowed the improvement of the overall quality of the TD suite, producing extensive improvements and significant increases in the performances of some commands such as Copy, Rebuild of complex shapes and the creation of the layout of models
with a lot of components.”
