UMC Reports First Quarter 2013 Results

40nm and below revenue grew from 15% in 4Q12 to 18% in 1Q13, reflecting strong customer demand for this leading edge node.  We anticipate 40nm contribution to continue to increase in 2Q13.

Communication consists of handset components, broadband, WLAN, bluetooth, Ethernet, LAN, DSP, etc. Consumer consists of ICs used for DVD players, DTV, STB, MP3/MP4, flash controller, game consoles, DSC, smart cards, toys, etc.
