New imageFORMULA Production Document Scanners Help Provide Businesses with Ultimate Production Efficiency

MELVILLE, N.Y. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — February 27, 2013 — With the notion of maximizing production efficiency in mind, Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging solutions, announced two new imageFORMULA production document scanners, the DR-G1130 and DR-G1100. These scanners have been designed to generate both high-speed and high-quality imaging, while being able to withstand the day-to-day rigors of production-level scanning. They allow for companies to improve flexibility and efficiency, maintain business continuity, and increase overall productivity.

“Canon knows there is a demand for reliability when it concerns production-level document scanning for businesses,” said Sam Yoshida, vice president and general manager, Business Imaging Solutions Group, Canon U.S.A. “These new imageFORMULA document scanners will provide companies with the flexibility, and the reliability to help reduce production costs and save time, all while consistently delivering outstanding speed and robust image quality.”

Enhanced Speed and Performance

Recognizing the need for high performance in the work place, Canon, has increased performance capability and production levels over previous imageFORMULA production document scanner models. The DR-G1130 scans up to 130 pages-per-minute (ppm)1, while the DR-G1100 scans up to 100 ppm, 1 conveniently scanning both sides in a single pass, and can scan in color, grayscale or black-and-white. For added productivity, both the DR-G1130 and DR-G1100 feature an Automatic Document Feeder that can handle up to 500 pages.

The Flexibility to Maximize Efficiency and Reliability

Businesses have a common goal to invest in a product that will contribute to the overall office performance. The imageFORMULA DR-G1130 and DR-G1100 are ideal for high-volume scanning environments to help save time and money. With the Advanced Feeding Mechanism, the imageFORMULA DR-G1130 and DR-G1100 have been specifically engineered to help reduce labor-intensive tasks such as pre-sorting different forms of media. Whether you are scanning business cards, long, thick or thin documents, both production document scanners are flexible and reliable enough to handle a variety of document types. Additionally, the DR-G1130 and DR-G1100 both have the ability to detect double feeds to help prevent a paper jam for added workflow efficiency.

The DR-G1130 and DR-G1100 feature an intuitive-control panel so users can easily access scanner settings, and conveniently initiate user-programmable jobs for “one-touch operation.” Plus, the scanners are equipped with a motorized paper feed tray that adjusts to the height of the batch, as well as a flexible-paper feed and output guides for maximum efficiency. Couple this with the aforementioned ability to handle a variety of document types and users will be able to experience and deliver unattended batch scanning; optimizing workflows and increasing efficiencies.

Keeping it “Green”

Canon prides itself on the Company’s efforts in the “green” movement, keeping environmental safety and stability at a premium. Both the DR-G1130 and DR-G1100 production document scanners are members of Canon’s Generation Green program.
