Trelligence Announces Enhanced User-Friendly Features of Affinity Report Generator

Houston, TX, USA (October 22, 2012) - Trelligence, Inc. announced that it has made a number of improvements to the report-generation functionality of its industry-leading architectural programming and design tool, Trelligence Affinity.  The main thrust of these enhancements has been to expand the range of functionality and the user friendliness of Affinity's report-creation tool.

Trelligence Affinity has long set the standard as a software tool for performing all steps of the architectural programming and schematic design process.  In addition, Affinity is increasingly being recognized for its ability to provide repository and data translation capability across the entire architectural process, from beginning to end.

Complementing this suite of functionality is the Affinity Report Generator, a powerful report creation tool included with the Affinity software.  With the Affinity Report Generator, users can build reports of any type of complexity, pulling information not only from the Affinity database, but from any other data sources available to Affinity that support the major data standards and formats used in the AEC industry, including the industry's major BIM tools.

With the Affinity Report Generator, extensive style sheet-based formatting provides precise control over every element of the report display, including color, font, borders, background, etc.  Reports can be composed of any number of tables, images, logos, grids, loops, formatting controls, and other elements to merge and combine data from multiple sources.

Typical types of reports created by Affinity users include space program reports (summary and detail); floor-by-floor design reports; design-to-program analysis reports incorporating color alerts; space plan reports combining design images with program and actual data; detailed room data sheets with tables, lists, and images; equipment lists and schedules; relationship diagrams; pivot tables; and stacking diagrams.  These report types and others can be customized to the user's desired look and feel.

The Affinity Report Generator also complements the Affinity Cloud Bridge, which was announced in the summer of this year.  The Affinity Cloud Bridge provides access to data in the Affinity repository and to Affinity reports from anywhere on the Web, using essentially any platform, including tablets, smart phones, and other devices.  For ease of viewing, reports and data can be exported and displayed in Microsoft Word and Excel, and in HTML so that they can be viewed from any Web browser.

"From the inception of Affinity, we knew that our customers would need robust report generation capabilities," said Larry Ciscon, Ph.D., Trelligence President.  "Client-ready reports that incorporate an architecture firm's unique look and feel are extremely important in the AEC industry planning and design process.  We looked at report writing tools out in the market and were not quite satisfied with any of them.  So we built our own report generation engine within Affinity, and we have continued to enhance it over time so that it meets the full range of our customers' report generation needs.  It is a significant value-adding element of the Affinity software."
