SpaceClaim and First Trace Announce Integration of SpaceClaim Engineer and Kinnosa

CONCORD, MA, and PHOENIX, AZ, September 18, 2012 – SpaceClaim, the leading provider of flexible and affordable 3D for engineering design and manufacturing, and First Trace, provider of Kinnosa, the most contemporary Engineering Document Management (EDM) system available for managing complex CAD documents, Office files, and business processes in a dynamic enterprise environment, announced today a direct integration of SpaceClaim Engineer and Kinnosa. Engineers and other manufacturing professionals can now generate new designs, edit 2D and 3D geometry, and maintain total control of the complex data using Kinnosa functionality embedded into SpaceClaim Engineer.

Kinnosa brings automation, consistency, structure, and accuracy to complex engineering processes and documentation. Firms utilizing SpaceClaim Engineer, but still wrestling to manage complex CAD drawings, models, renditions, and related engineering content can access Kinnosa’s powerful EDM functionality directly from the SpaceClaim toolbar. Check out, check in, copy out, references, properties, file searching and more is available within the SpaceClaim modeling environment for quick and easy access to advanced EDM functionality. SpaceClaim and Kinnosa are both completely CAD-neutral and facilitate collaboration across the enterprise.

“SpaceClaim and First Trace share the philosophy that enterprise software used in complex industries should be easy to use, utilize the latest technology, and provide a fast return on investment,” said Rich Moore, VP of Business Development at SpaceClaim. “SpaceClaim revolutionizes 3D design without the complexity of traditional CAD, while Kinnosa simplifies drawing control and design tasks without the complexity of traditional PDM,” added Terry Simpson, President and CEO, First Trace.

Kinnosa tracks drawings, changes, references, metadata updates, and SpaceClaim user activity using collaborative EDM functionality to provide a 360° view of enterprise data and processes. Files are secured, stored, searchable, and instantly retrievable from the Kinnosa menu within SpaceClaim as well as Windows Explorer. A complete audit history helps ensure data integrity and satisfy compliance requirements. Kinnosa’s integrated BPM engine structures business processes, manages tasks, optimizes workflows, converts CAD files to other formats, distributes automatic email notifications and other automated tasks to streamline SpaceClaim modeling and design work.

A webinar will be conducted on Thursday, September 20, at 11:30AM eastern time to showcase this integration as well as SpaceClaim and Kinnosa functionality. Sign up for this webinar.
