Pitney Bowes Receives Innovation Award from The Governor's Prevention Partnership

Company Honored for Helping to Keep Connecticut Kids Safe, Successful and Drug Free

STAMFORD, Conn. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — October 19, 2011 — Pitney Bowes Inc. (NYSE: PBI) today received the 2011 Partners in Prevention Innovation Award from The Governor’s Prevention Partnership in Connecticut. The award recognizes more than two decades of work the company has done on behalf of Connecticut youth.

Connecticut Gov. Dannel Malloy will present the award to Pitney Bowes at the 21st Annual Governor’s Luncheon in New Haven.

From robotics teams in Shelton to Junior Achievement: from world innovation forums to supporting first-generation college-bound students to working to close the academic achievement gap, Pitney Bowes thinks out of the box and extends its reach to ensure our next generation has a healthy future and is ready to take its place in the workforce. For over 20 years, Pitney Bowes employees have welcomed young people to their offices to help with homework and share insights about career opportunities through the LIFE tutoring program. Other employees participate in a power lunch reading program, serve as judges with the CT Intervention Convention, are involved in the innovative web based Wi-Mentoring program in Fairfield County and other initiatives.
