Wilmington , DE (August 16, 2011) – 21st Century Insurance, a leader in the direct-to-consumer auto insurance industry, is partnering with Drive iQ to launch 21st Connect in Virginia. 21st Century’s newest product offering will provide consumers with important information on how their vehicle is being driven – including how many miles, how fast, and where - throughout the day. This data will be accessible to 21st Connect customers via the internet 24 hours a day.
“21st Century Insurance realizes that today’s vehicle owners are more interested than ever in understanding how technology can be used to measure driving performance, their own, and their family members’. This new technology from Drive iQ puts this type of powerful information into the hands of consumers,” said Shannon Kelly, regional vice president of product management at 21st Century Insurance. “During this initial phase, participating policyholders will receive a 5% discount. As more information is made available about the driving habits of enrolled customers, additional discounts will be considered.”
21st Connect will utilize Drive iQ’s unique system to monitor drivers’ performance levels. The Drive iQ program uses a self-installed device to collect driving data, including miles driven, speed, and safety and analyzes it to help consumers better understand their driving behaviors.
How the program works:
Consumers sign up for the Drive iQ program and receive their device. This allows them to electronically access reports about their driving. It also makes them eligible for a discount from 21st Century Insurance.
Consumers can use this device to monitor the driving behavior of teens in their family
Consumers will receive a 5 percent policy level discount for being enrolled with Drive iQ and the consumer keeps the 5% discount as long as they are enrolled with Drive iQ.
Consumers can learn more about the Drive iQ program by visiting us at 21st.com or by contacting 21st Century Insurance at (877) 310-5687.
“We believe that as consumers become more familiar with the types of data they can access through the Drive iQ system, they will come to better understand how possible adjustments in their own driving behavior can lead to a more pleasant driving experience, and in some cases, lower insurance costs. Parents may also find greater piece of mind as they see and evaluate their older children’s driving behavior,” said 21st Century’s Kelly.
