ERDAS & Intergraph Make Enterprise Interoperability a Reality

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., June 9, 2011 — (PRNewswire) — At the Hexagon 2011 Conference, real enterprise interoperability will be showcased in the TechExpo Hall, as well as through various breakout sessions and keynotes.  Part of Hexagon AB, ERDAS and Intergraph are working together to leverage joint strengths in managing, sharing and delivering geospatial information.

Using geospatial and IT interoperability as the common language, ERDAS and Intergraph are demonstrating the ability to deploy a joint data management and SDI solution. ERDAS APOLLO manages and delivers unstructured geospatial data such as imagery, terrain, video, GIS and CAD files. Intergraph GeoMedia SDI solutions offer tremendous flexibility and power for building and deploying a spatial data infrastructure (SDI).

"Intergraph and ERDAS are leaders in SDI technology, ensuring organizations comply with European government initiatives, such as INSPIRE," said Mark Doherty, Technical Director, Technology Architecture and Strategy, Intergraph Corporation. "Moving forward, these applications will feature greater interoperability, providing users with the best of both worlds – the ability to successfully manage, share and deliver geospatial data and information to users inside and outside an organization."

"Together, organizations can not only manage large volumes of data, but they can also extend the utilization of that data by the use of a SDI," said Mladen Stojic SVP Product Management and Marketing, ERDAS.

In addition to unstructured data management, ERDAS APOLLO also provides the ability to deliver virtually any digital object in an enterprise faster (and with less hardware) than competing server-based products while meeting European government mandates. It also provides superior raster data server capabilities, such as image streaming (through ECWP and JPIP), image processing and analysis (WPS), and an extremely high level of performance under heavy user demand.  Intergraph's GeoMedia SDI is a comprehensive SDI, well-respected for its management of vector data within a database, and its cutting-edge tools for data preparation, layer fusion, styling, and analysis.  It also provides users with an easy-to-use portal and compliance with European INSPIRE standards.

At the conference, recorded breakout sessions highlighting this interoperability include ERDAS & Intergraph SG&I's Product Integration Plans: Today and Tomorrow and LiDAR Data Management & Exploitation.

Leveraging the growing synergies between ERDAS and Intergraph, enterprise interoperability drives the sharing and delivery engines in Hexagon's Dynamic GIS, an integrated geospatial system capable of translating change, on the fly, into actionable information.  The Dynamic GIS for customer solutions supports the complete geospatial information lifecycle:  capturing geospatial imagery using sensor technology; processing vector, raster and terrain data into actionable information; managing, fusing, and sharing geospatial data across departments and regions; and finally, rapidly and securely delivering integrated information products, ensuring the right individuals can make timely decisions.
