Cityworks Raises Awareness and Funds for Trichotillomania at User Conference

Golf Competition at Cityworks User Conference Raises over $3,000 for Trichotillomania Learning Center

June 09, 2011 -- Sandy, UT —Cityworks, the leading provider of GIS-centric management solutions, recently hosted a charitable event at the 2011 Cityworks User Conference to raise money for the Trichotillomania Learning Center (TLC).  The 3-put Challenge generated over $3,000 for TLC, a national non-profit organization dedicated to ending the suffering caused from Trichotillomania and Body Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs), including hair pulling and skin picking disorders.

Monday night, at the 2011 Cityworks User Conference, attendees enjoyed the annual User Appreciation Dinner & Social, held at the Entrada Country Club, where Cityworks hosted the 3-putt combination competition and other events.  Brian Haslam, President and CEO of Cityworks | Azteca Systems, set out to raise awareness and give hope to those who mistakenly think they are the only ones who exhibit these types of behaviors through this event.   His goal was met as the event generated funds for the Santa Cruz, California based TLC.

In addition to raising funds, the company also met their goal to raise awareness as a number of those present at the event personally approached Haslam to thank him for holding the fundraiser, with several even revealing they, or a loved one, suffer from BFRDs.  Sadly, each of these individuals expressed they had never known the behavior had a name, let alone many fellow sufferers, and for years had put guilt and labels upon themselves.  They now have newfound knowledge and hope.

“The highlight of the conference- the thing I will always remember - was talking to those individuals and realizing we, as a company, had made a difference in their lives,” expressed Haslam. “I’m so thankful we were able to raise awareness, as well as funds, for TLC, an extraordinary resource and support for those affected by these disorders.”
