Company president and CEO Mike Heffron said that Auble, in his role as a consultant for the past eighteen months, has been instrumental in developing DeLorme's business strategy, especially with respect to spatial data.

Auble's role will be to further develop and execute the DeLorme data products strategy. During his time as a consultant, the company landed multiple data contracts with the federal government, and increased its sales to corporate and NGO clients.
Auble brings more than 20 years of professional experience in the geospatial industry, including leadership positions developing new models of public-private partnership at both Tele Atlas and DigitalGlobe. He also held a joint appointment in teaching and research at Clark University where he led multiple projects using geospatial technologies for international development and conservation.
