Norcross, GA — ERDAS announces its participation in the American Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS) annual conference May 1-5 at the Frontier Airlines Center of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA.
In keeping with this year’s conference theme, "Ride on the Geospatial Revolution," the companies of Hexagon - ERDAS, Intergraph, Leica Geosystems and Z/I Imaging - will reveal their vision of the future of the geospatial industry, the Dynamic GIS. The Dynamic GIS integrates interoperable hardware and software solutions into a streamlined solution that address all five steps of the geospatial value chain: data collection; data processing; analysis; information distribution; and end-user applications. By effectively managing the entire geospatial data life cycle, the Hexagon companies are evolving to usher in a new era of geospatial technology in which customers are no longer obligated to piece together tools from specialized providers to acquire a solution for performing their geospatial workflow.
On the exhibition floor, ERDAS and Intergraph will jointly present the software side of the Dynamic GIS, and across the aisle Leica Geosystems and Z/I imaging will present the hardware side. ERDAS and Intergraph will demonstrate the remote sensing capabilities of the Dynamic GIS in ERDAS IMAGINE, the combined photogrammetry expertise in LPS and ImageStation, and data management and delivery proficiency in ERDAS APOLLO. In addition, ERDAS’ chief remote sensing & photogrammetry scientists will be in the ERDAS/Intergraph booth to answer questions.
During ASPRS, Brian Kloer, ERDAS’ Chief Remote Sensing Scientist, will present “WorldView-2 Image Exploitation Using ERDAS eATE & IMAGINE Objective” and “Object-Oriented Change Detection with Discriminant Functions.” Several of ERDAS’ product managers will present “What’s New in ERDAS 2011,” showcasing portfolio‑wide advances in the ERDAS product lineup and new feature highlights from each of the major ERDAS product lines.
In conjunction with ASPRS, the first combined user group meeting for ERDAS, Intergraph, Leica Geosystems and Z/I Imaging ERDAS will be held on Monday, May 2 from 8 am - 12pm in room 202E of the Frontier Airlines Center. This event features a briefing by Mladen Stojic, Senior Vice President, Product Management & Marketing, ERDAS, followed by presentations and question and answer sessions with key members of ERDAS, Intergraph, Leica Geosystems and Z/I Imaging product management, sales and marketing teams.
“ERDAS is extremely excited to collaborate with our Hexagon colleagues to present the concept of the Dynamic GIS and its incredible value to the geospatial community at the esteemed ASPRS conference,” said Stojic. “By combining the independently-successful solutions from these companies into one streamlined and cohesive solution, we’re revolutionizing the industry, freeing customers to dream big, seizing and even creating new business opportunities with solid support from a powerful alliance of interoperable, innovative products.”
