Geographic Information System Solution Provider Named into Two Branham Group Lists for a Second Year
TORONTO – April 7, 2011 – For a second consecutive year, ESRI Canada has been named to the Branham300, a list of the key players in Canada's information and communication technology industry. The list is compiled by analyst firm Branham Group, which ranks the companies by revenue. In 2010, ESRI Canada’s revenues from providing geographic information system (GIS) technology and services grew by 5 % over the previous year, from $61 million to nearly $64 million. The company was also named one of the Top 25 IT Professional Services Providers in the country.
“We’ve seen increased demand for our solutions as organizations in all sectors, both public and private, strive to increase their productivity and efficiency,” said Alex Miller, president, ESRI Canada. “With the advancements in GIS technology, non-professional users can now leverage mapping tools to create innovative applications. GIS has become mainstream, and we expect the technology to become even more entrenched in government, business and education in the future. We are pleased that our leadership in providing technology and services in this area has been recognized by the Branham Group.”
ESRI Canada has experienced significant success with its programs. Over the past two years, it has signed more than 100 customers under its Enterprise License Agreement program, which provides organizations with unlimited, affordable access to ESRI technology for a specific term. Canadian users have welcomed the launch of ArcGIS 10, the latest major release of ESRI’s flagship GIS suite. The company’s recently released Esri Business Analyst (Canadian Edition)is also gaining traction as a leading geographic business analysis solution.
ESRI technology is used by over 10,000 organizations in various industries across the country. It powers several government GIS applications including Select Ontario, the province of Ontario’s investment attraction system; Reserve.AlbertaParks.ca, Alberta’s campground reservation service; and public safety applicationsused during the 2010 Vancouver Winter Games. The technology is also widely used by leading organizations in forestry, retail, utilities, telecommunications, mining, natural resources, transportation, health care and education.
As a service to the community, the company has applied its GIS leadership in promoting broad sharing of geographic information to benefit all Canadians. Through the ESRI Canada Community Maps Program, government organizations can contribute their geographic content to create a detailed national basemap, which can be used by the public to develop innovative mapping applications.
