Esri Seminar to Spotlight the New ArcGIS API for Windows Phone

April 7, 2011 -- 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 3:00 p.m. (Pacific daylight time) The new ArcGIS API for Windows Phone lets developers build and deploy mobile geographic information system (GIS) applications. To familiarize you with the API, Esri will host the free live training seminar Introduction to ArcGIS API for Windows Phone on April 7, 2011.

With ArcGIS API for Windows Phone, you can quickly build interesting and useful applications that feature GIS maps and robust functionality. The functionality lets you overlay data on basemaps from ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Server, query and edit map features, execute geoprocessing models, and explore the results.

The presenter will demonstrate how to use the API to build custom applications and how to deploy them within your enterprise or to the public via Microsoft’s Windows Phone Marketplace.
During this seminar, attendees will

  • Hear an overview of ArcGIS API for Windows Phone.
  • Find out how to download the free ArcGIS for Windows Phone application and learn how it can be used.
  • Learn the workflow for developing applications using ArcGIS API for Windows Phone.
  • Find out how to deploy applications to the Microsoft Windows Phone Marketplace.

Web developers who want to create GIS-enabled applications for Windows Phone devices are encouraged to attend this free seminar. Familiarity with Esri’s ArcGIS Server and experience developing mobile applications are recommended.

A broadband Internet connection and an Esri Global Account are needed to watch the live training seminars. Creating an Esri Global Account is easy and free: visit esri.com/lts, click Login, and register your name and address.
