March 24, 2011 - Visitors to the intec trade fair in Germany saw for themselves the numerous benefits that Edgecam brings to the metal working/processing industry.
Edgecam, along with SolidWorks, was featured on C-CAM® GmbH’s stand at the 13th intec trade fair for manufacturing, tool and special‑purpose machine construction, in Leipzig,
C-CAM® GmbH from Chemnitz, Germany, presented its CAD/CAM/PDM products on a 70m² booth (see pictures). The Edgecam CAM system was presented on 2 counters in combination with a small CNC machine and a lecture in the exhibitor forum.
The company’s booth was very well attended throughout, and at the end of the fair 47 Edgecam prospects had seen how the software can help them get the very best from their designs and machine tools. First orders are expected in the next days.
Edgecam enables any manufacturer, from a small workshop to a large production plant, to fully automate and integrate its design and CNC machining processes, saving time, eliminating costly mistakes and increasing productivity.
C-CAM® GmbH is a system house, which has been operating for 14 years and now has 15 employees. It principally services companies in the eastern part of Germany but there are a growing number of customers throughout the whole country.
Providing CAD/CAM/PDM solutions which are seamlessly working together, C-CAM® GmbH’s main products are SolidWorks and Edgecam. All in all, C-CAM has sold over 3,000 SolidWorks and around 150 Edgecam licenses to about 400 customers in the industrial sector as well as to research and educational institutions.
The combination of intec and Z trade fairs closed with 20,800 visitors from 22 countries (2009: 20,200 from 16 countries) and the record number of 1.345 exhibitors (2009: 1,320). The results show that this fair combination, which is unique in Germany, is among the most important German trade fairs for the metal working/processing industry and the subcontracting trade.
