EASTCOAST CAD/CAM RELEASES VERSION 3.4 OF THEIR INNOVATIVE MEP DESIGN TO FABRICATION WORKFLOW SOFTWARE

Littleton, MA (March 14, 2011) - EastCoast CAD/CAM is pleased to announce the release of Version 3.4 of its Design to Fabrication software, comprised of tools that further automate and streamline the MEP system design and manufacture for sheet metal, piping and plumbing industries. Version 3.4 adds additional visualization, editing and reporting capabilities throughout the entire line of tools, giving MEP professionals even more value and use from the full suite of Autodesk's AutoCAD MEP and Revit MEP software solutions, furthering their usage for MEP Contractors.

According to Dave Derocher, EastCoast President, "The basis of all software development at EastCoast comes from listening to our customers." Derocher continues, "The release of Version 3.4 represents a number of important product requirements that come directly from our end users." Examples of EastCoast's commitment to continual product improvement include label settings that show connection locations and inlet, independent liner labeling, tie rods, additional report exporting to PDF in DuctMaker, and new manufacturer content, added estimating support, Trimble and Vulcan download functionality, and new Properties editing options to work with the Design to Fabrication content, specifications, and manufacturer defaults in  Fabrication for AutoCAD MEP. Improvements were also made to  MEP Fabrication, the newest offering for Autodesk Revit MEP and AutoCAD MEP, to automate the conversion of generic HVAC engineering systems to fully specified systems.

By embedding targeted tools directly inside the leading industry-standard CAD MEP software by Autodesk - AutoCAD MEP and Autodesk Revit MEP - EastCoast CAD/CAM has given piping and sheet metal professionals the tools they need to collaborate much earlier on in the design process. David Quigley, EastCoast Chief Operating Officer, commented that "our customers are experiencing the advantage of true interoperability of the design and fabrication process by using the Autodesk - EastCoast CAD and CAM software process. The efficiencies of a comprehensive full suite of tools that produce construction documentation quickly and accurately - that take a design from the engineering stage all the way through construction - are changing the way owners, architects, engineers and contractors are approaching the building process."

EastCoast CAD/CAM is currently shipping its new Version 3.4 software solution to customers who have active subscriptions, and has made it generally available to new subscribers.
