February 24, 2011 -- Goldin-Rudahl Systems, Inc. (GRS) has produced a free evaluation version of Dragon/ips(tm) Professional remote sensing/GIS software. Individuals considering a purchase can now download the evaluation kit in order to determine whether the software meets their needs. The evaluation system is a fully functional copy of Dragon Professional, including full-scene processing capability and multiple language versions. However, it is restricted to working with the extensive set of demonstration imagery provided with the kit.
Dragon Profession Version 6.1, on which the evaluation is based, offers a rich suite of image processing and raster GIS functionality in a compact, economical, easy to use package. Version 6.1 adds expanded processing capacity and new import and export functionality for both raster and vector data sets, as well as a range of enhancements to existing functions such as image registration, supervised and unsupervised classification, scatterplots and meta-data management. Dragon Professional includes the Dragon Programmer's Toolkit, a C language API that allows researchers to create their own processing modules for use with Dragon.
To obtain a copy of the evaluation kit, interested parties should go to http://www.dragon-ips.com and choose "Products->Downloads", then follow the instructions on that page.
