Sterling, VA, February 2011 – Infotech Enterprises America, Inc. (Infotech) has successfully completed the City of Cambridge, MA (City) Photogrammetry and GIS Base Map Development project where we provided the most up-to-date GIS. The City maintained their GIS data since 1995, which was aging over the years resulting in them contracting with Infotech in early 2010. The project involved new imagery that was acquired to deliver 1”=40’ mapping scale base map data along with 3” true color and Color Infrared (CIR) digital orthophotos, 1’ contours, and detailed planimetrics.   

The City, an urban area with a high demand for accurate GIS data, includes the largest concentrations of elite Universities in the US and large biotechnology and IT industries. With the thriving industries, the City has had a constant change to over 100,000 residential and commercial residents over the past 15 years. In addition, some areas of this region consistently need GIS to fuel all the myriad data requirements needed to maintain infrastructure. With aging buildings and constant need to maintain this regions data, 3D roofline models as well as enhanced planimetric features assisted their needs.
