Freising, Feb 01, 2011 - uismedia announces the release of a new version of Mappetizer Standalone, the company's easy-to-use software for creating high sophisticated, interactive and dynamic web mapping solutions.
Mappetizer web mapping solutions are based on SVG technology which is an nonproprietary and vendor neutral, from the W3 Consortium developed standard.
Mappetizer is a "standalone" software, which allows you to use many different input GIS formats, as ESRI Shapefile Format, DXF, MIF/MID, MapInfo TAB, GML, GPX and Raster (TIFF, JPEG, GIF, and PNG). OpenStreetMap (OSM), Bing Maps as well as other WMS services might be included in your web mapping project.
With Mappetizer 3.0 there are many new features available:
- Tiling of Images: Images are now automatically tiled. For this the Deep Zoom technology is used. So all images are now displayed in good quality and are loaded very fast.
- Tiling of Polygons: Beside the tiling of point and line layers also the tiling of polygon layers is now available. Displaying of such layers after initial loading is very fast.
- Enhanced symbol editing: Transparency, dashed lines, gradients... are now supported.
- Support of Web Mercator Projection for GPX Data: When using OSM as a background layer, GPX files and other data in WGS 1984 projection are automatically transformed in the suitable Web Mercator projection.
