GE Energy Launches New Smallworld Software Solution for Collaboration with Oracle Database

ATLANTA, GA.—February 2, 2011 — GE (NYSE: GE) today announced the release of the Smallworld* Enterprise Gateway solution. This new software product enables users of GE’s geospatial solutions to directly use Smallworld data for applications operating on Oracle® Spatial technology.

As an integral part of GE’s Smallworld portfolio, the Smallworld Enterprise Gateway solution is GE’s next step to strengthen the value of Smallworld solutions for customers operating in combined database architectures with Oracle Spatial. It allows re-using the quality models of the proven Smallworld industry applications suite for non-Smallworld applications and can be configured and operated very efficiently.
