YNPG required a technology partner to ensure the efficiency, reliability and security of its power transmission and distribution management system. YNPG chose Intergraph for its proven geospatial technology and innovative solutions, and selected Intergraph's G/Technology and GeoMedia® suite of solutions.

Intergraph G/Technology is a feature-rich, open and scalable application platform designed specifically to meet the geospatial resource management needs of utilities and communications companies. Intergraph's GeoMedia software provides direct, real-time access to enterprise geospatial data via simple Web clients in a powerful, dynamic and open geospatial application. YNPG will use Intergraph's geospatial solutions for its provincial level transmission and distribution management system pilot project in Yunnan province, with support for its grid monitoring system (GMS).

"It was a clear choice to select Intergraph as our technology partner as YNPG moves forward to be the first utility in China to build an integrated electricity transmission and distribution model that is compliant with the CIM standard," said Mr. Feng Yu Xi, Chief Technical Officer of Kunming Power Information Technical Company, a YNPG subsidiary that manages the IT systems of YNPG. "With a dedicated Intergraph technical team supporting YNPG, the Intergraph solution will help ensure the efficiency and stability of YNPG's infrastructure management system."

Tony DiMarco, Executive Director of Global Utilities & Communications for Intergraph, said, "With over 40 years of experience serving the utilities industry, Intergraph has a deep understanding of the market's requirements and we have designed our technology to meet the industry's needs.
