Sivan Design Announces the Commissioning of PLAGIS - Plateau State Land Information System That Will Allow the State to Better Manage its Resources Leading to an Increase in Public Welfare and Prosperity

RA'ANANA, Israel, November 3, 2010 — (PRNewswire) — Sivan Design, a leading provider of GIS-ERP turnkey solutions, is proud to announce the successful commissioning of PLAGIS - Geographic Information System with ERP capabilities for Land and cadastre management in Plateau State Nigeria. The commissioning took place on Saturday October 9 at the Ministry of Lands and Survey offices in Jos.

Sivan Design was honored by the personal participation of the Executive President of Nigeria - Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, Plateau State Governor - Dr. Jonah David Jang, Bauchi State Governor - Alhaji Isa Yuguda, Minister of Works and Housing - Senator Sanusi Muhammed Dagash, Minister of Environment - Mr. John Ogar Odey, Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources - Prof. Sheikh Ahmed Abdullahi and many other respectful deputy governors and guests.

President Goodluck said that supplying the government with modern information systems will allow it to better manage its resources therefore such systems should be installed in every state of the federation. The president watched a live demonstration of the system that at its peak, the first land Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) was issued to the President by the state government.

PLAGIS is a unit of the Ministry of Land, Survey and Town Planning of Plateau state. One of the goals of this administration was to control urban development by modernizing the processes of land titling. President Goodluck described the project as a unique project and commended the state government for the initiative.

In 2006 Sivan Design has commissioned FELIS - the Federal Land Information System which is used to manage Federal land and resources. Since then, similar systems were installed in Benue, Nasarawa, Niger, Kwara, and Kaduna states while other systems are planned to be installed in the very near future.
