EGUG Tackles Today’s Top Challenges for Electric and Gas Utilities (ESRI)

Redlands, California—October 1, 2010—Utility professionals will hear from their peers about the best ways to meet current challenges at the 2010 Esri Electric and Gas User Group (EGUG) Conference.

The event is scheduled for October 17–20, 2010, at the Hyatt Regency in Dearborn, Michigan. Attendees will walk away with proven applications of geographic information system (GIS) technology for asset management, design, regulatory requirements and compliance, mobile solutions, working in a tough economy, and safety and reliability.

The 2010 EGUG Agenda of nearly 30 paper sessions features presentations from leading utilities engaged in electric and gas transmission and distribution.

The Plenary Session will feature Esri technology updates and keynote speeches from Vincent Dow, vice president of distribution operations at Detroit Edison, and Robert Richard, senior vice president of gas operations at Michigan Consolidated Gas Company.

"The EGUG Conference provides a chance to learn from others in the industry, network and collaborate efforts, identify similar issues, and find solutions through brainstorming sessions," said Bonnie Sroka, 2010 president of EGUG and the GIS supervisor for DTE Energy. "Esri staff, technical and development experts, and Esri business partners are also available to answer questions and respond to concerns."
