Dassault Systèmes’ DraftSight Now Available for Mac OS

Mac Users Can Now Create, Edit and View DWG Files with DraftSight

VÉLIZY-VILLACOUBLAY, France — (BUSINESS WIRE) — September 21, 2010 — Dassault Systèmes (DS) (Paris: DSY) (Euronext Paris: #13065, DSY.PA), a world leader in 3D and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions, today announced the availability of DraftSight on the Mac OS. DraftSight, a free 2D CAD product, is available for free download at www.3ds.com/products/draftsight.

Launched in June 2010, DraftSight allows users to create, edit and view DWG files. DraftSight generally takes a few minutes to download and runs on multiple operating systems, including Mac OS, Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 and is available for professional CAD users, students and educators. Linux support will be available later this year.

“Creating a specific DraftSight interface for Mac OS was always in our plans when we began the development of DraftSight,” said Aaron Kelly, general manager, DraftSight, Dassault Systèmes. “We had a vision to create a true, platform-specific experience for many operating systems, including Mac, and are excited to hear the feedback from our user community. We want to offer our users the convenience of being able to use DraftSight from any computer, whether they are home or at work.”

In conjunction with DraftSight, Dassault Systèmes also recently launched an open, online community. Accessible through DraftSight.com, the community provides users access to new services and products, as well as an abundance of online training resources. Within the online community, users can learn by interacting with other members and let their opinions be heard about specific topics, challenges or anything they’re passionate about when it comes to CAD and DraftSight.
